Sunny (female pastel ball python) was resting until she saw me come in and sit beside her enclosure and she spent an hour trying to find a way to get out of her enclosure so she could bond with me. As soon as I walked away she laid back down to rest and calmed right down until I came back into the room. You can clearly see a snakes thinking process and how they calculate their situation based upon their environment. So many people think snakes are dumb animals with no feelings but they are fully capable of expressing themselves and they DO bond with their handler if their handler invest quality time handling and working with their snakes.

I did lose a few of the babies in this clutch but these are all of the first clutch this year that belong to Tawny and they are all doing great and are very strong healthy babies. I had request to do a video once all of these babies have left their eggs :) Amazing array of colors and patterns some bright light pink with dots on them and many with the light pink skin and purple patterns. Can't wait to see them after their first shed and I apologize for not being with it when I recorded this video I had been up and down all night for several nights checking on the eggs to make sure to give the babies a soak and move them into their enclosure. It's a lot of work and takes dedication but so worth it they are so precious. :) It's amazing how intelligent and resourceful snakes are even at one day old as you will see in this video !!

Through observation and handling you learn to understand your snakes thought patterns and you learn to read their body language and anticipate their actions and learning these things makes for a much more relaxing and calmer relationship between you and your snakes. You learn to always think ahead and consider what choices your snake may make that could come as a surprise to you and catch you off guard and you end up with a bite because of your lack of observation. It's very rewarding to out think your snakes and reduce any negative results that happen because you were complacent. Especially important when raising big constrictors

Many people don't invest the time to handle their snakes and work with them so they can learn to read the snakes body language and interpret what the snake is trying to tell you. Even though they can't relate their needs to us vocally they most definitely have their own way of telling us if something is wrong or if WE need to make changes to make them more comfortable.
The snake in this video is Chewy, my 11 foot male Coastal Carpet Python.

My snakes love watching TV with me at night so last night I placed a large plastic container in their enclosure and filled it with water and they had a blast playing tag in the water for a couple of hours. Snakes really do enjoy activities and it makes them stronger animals than if they just sit around all the time. These are the babies that I produced almost two months ago and they are doing great except I still have a few that are problem eaters that I'm working with.

Many people have asked to see all my snakes and enclosures so I made this video for the people that have asked me about making one :) I love being surrounded by my snakes and I can't imagine having a better life !!

People that spend a lot of time working with and handling their snakes develop a strong bond with their snakes and the snakes learn to trust their handler and feel safe and secure around them. All 16 of my snakes and I have an unspoken closeness between us because we have learned to trust each other and enjoy each others companionship. I take my snakes outdoors most of the spring and summer months and they always stay close to me or are touching me or on me and I have 10 acres and they always stay right by my side. If I get up and walk off they will follow me, People are so wrong when they say snakes don't bond with people and don't have feelings or emotions. :(

Nosey and Grumpy tend to display jealousy toward each other when I'm spending time petting them and Nosey kept pushing Grumpy out of the way because she didn't want me to pay him any attention.
People say snakes don't have feelings or emotions and I've seen every indication that they indeed do have emotions !!

Tipr (Adult Ball Python) was getting ready to shed and his nostrils were dry and making noise so I took him out to put some Vitamin E Oil on his nostrils so his breathing was clear but Deffer my deaf cat decided that she wanted all of Tipr's time and attention. She has been pals with some of my snakes for 14 years now and she's VERY protective of my snakes so I had to give Deffer her time with Tipr before I could put the oil on his nose
I DO NOT ENCOURAGE ANYONE TO FORCE TWO ANIMALS TOGETHER OF UNCOMMON SPECIES !!! THIS RELATIONSHIP HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE CHOICE OF MY CAT AND SNAKES AND HAS NEVER BEEN ONE THAT THEY WERE FORCED INTO !!!!

First baby snake left it's egg on the 4th of July !!! My baby Corn Snakes are pipping and leaving their eggs at least the first clutch is second clutch due to start pipping next week or two. It amazes me how fierce and brave new born baby snakes are and they are so dang cute :) There is something really amazing and magical about having baby snakes in the house to raise and love !!

Snakes that were previously abused or neglected and were rescued most times turn out to be amazing animals and they do realize when someone makes life better for them and they return that love with trust !!
The vet had this snake on iv's for two days and he really didn't feel the snake would make it. The snake had all the skin and flesh ripped off the last four inches of his tail nothing except a bloody bone exposed (Thus the name I gave the snake, TIPR) the guy said he was in a hurry to get his shed off before he brought me the snake. The snake was infested with mites and dehydrated an badly malnourished.

Other than taking proper care of our snakes and keeping their enclosures clean and their environment comfortable for them we have to stay stocked up on food for all of our snakes and that's the most important part of accepting responsibility for these amazing animals to make sure ALL of their needs are provided for.

My snakes are all raised to be very social animals and Spike is somewhat the bossy snake of my 5 hold backs I produced last year and he finally met my cat Deffer and Deffer greeted Spike with her usual lick on the head that she gives all my snakes and Spike took great offense in Deffer's friendly approach LOL Love this video the snakes purple colors really show up well :)

Spike one of my Corn Snakes I produced last year, has always been a very assertive brave snake and he more or less keeps the other 4 snakes from this clutch under his control. H'es very protective of the other four. It always amazed me how nature has equipped snakes with their own way of threatening their prey and it's very neat the way Corn Snakes simulate the defensive behavior of a Rattlesnake by vibrating and shaking their tail. It's merely a threatening behavior and if I put my hand in front of his face inside the container where he is he will turn away and try to run and hide.
I always interact with my snakes when they are eating so they don't actually feel threatened by me they just like to act all big, tough and brave and show off and Spike is great at doing this LOL

I've raised snakes for many years and have a great passion for the big constrictor snakes but I've found some ways to feed them without encouraging aggressive or defensive behavior when it's time to feed them and in the long run it's beneficial because the snakes are calmer and more relaxed when eating instead of being super aggressive. The way I feed mine doesn't interfere with their natural feeding response and as we all know stressing snakes out hinders their proper digestion of food.
Felt this information would help the people that are new at raising larger constrictor snakes.

My snakes love being out spending time with me and Chewy (male coastal carpet python) is the most demanding of my time and attention and he spends hours playing on my sympathy and begging me to let him out so he can be close to me. And yet, so many people don't think snakes have feelings nor express any emotions :( Chewy's enclosure is closest to my daybed so this is an everyday event in my house until I take him out so he can bond with me. LOL

It really bothers all of us snake enthusiast that people are so fast to judge snakes in a negative way without really knowing very little about them because they aren't the mean horrible animals that so many (especially the media) and uneducated people portray snakes to be. This is one of my longest videos just to give people the opportunity to see for themselves what magnificent pets and companions snakes truly can be.

I seldom take Ginger and Tipr outdoors (My 2 Five Foot Ball Pythons ) together because they both display jealousy issues toward each other and if one is on my lap and the other one approaches me the one on my lap will go after the one that is approaching. I've had to break them up several times in the past and it's not a fun situation LOL Once in awhile I will take them outdoors together but they have to be watched closely. A friend Veronica is also in this video.

They are really amazing and I learned something I already knew about them. I had them apart from each other for 2 entire days and it was unbelievable how frantic they got and upset and restless trying to find each other !!! Wouldn't believe each one was aware someone was missing from the group and to prove that further I put them ALL back together except for one of the younger ones and the other 6 snakes wouldn't stop pacing and roaming all over the place looking for that 1 missing snake until I put it back into the group and you could seriously watch all of them making rounds like they were doing a head count until that last one was back in the group then they all settled in together again. Snakes always amaze me.
Not all snakes are community snakes that depends greatly on the different species of the snakes !!
