Dark lips are a perfect way to play with your look without committing to something more extreme, like going brunette or chopping your hair off. It allows you to express a darker side that you might not feel as comfortable doing in the sunny Spring and Summer months.

There are a few things to consider, though, before you start putting together your lipstick wardrobe. Namely, which darker shades will complement your skin tone and keep you from looking like the walking dead? I spoke with Urban Decay's cofounding partner Wende Zomnir, who gave me a fabulous yet practical tip for picking out dark lipstick: choose it based on the "vibe you're going for." Want to feel sultry? A deep burgundy is perfect. Feeling rocker chic? Berry shades will help bring out your inner band babe. And chocolate shades are a great way to play with the trend in a more natural form: browns are neutrals, so they won't appear too flashy.

7 curly hairstyles that will take you through a full week! Curly hair is a godsend. Sure, you might not think that all the time, but curly hair has so many benefits! Like natural volume, which adds a certain whimsy to any hairstyle. With braids, you'll never have to worry about them being flat - the curls add bulk that many straight-haired women load up on styling powder for. And topknots are never, ever puny with curls!

Because we wanted to show off how versatile curly hair is, we recruited celebrity hairstylist Richard Collins, whose clients include Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, and Helen Mirren, to create these seven gorgeous looks that any curly girl can replicate at home - a look for every day of the week!

In terms of products you'll need on standby, Richard suggests something to tame frizz and keep your mane controlled. Schwarzkopf curling cream is his favorite. "It's also light. You don't want anything too heavy on curly hair, or any hair, really."

So what advice does Richard have for those who have curly hair? "A lot of people with curly hair want it straight. Try not to flat iron it too much; try not to use a curling iron too much. Definitely use something with a heat protector in it." And in terms of washing your hair, Richard suggests washing your curls every fourth day. "And I think you can get away with not using shampoo. Sometimes you can get away with just using conditioner. You need to use shampoo, but it's not necessary every single time. I think it's a mistake that people use it every single time. Unless you're Spinning or something. In between, try to use conditioner," says Richard.

The edges of your hair are the most fragile part — they're very thin, which means taking the time to give them extra TLC. If you think you're alone in the struggle against thinning edges, think again — even supermodel Naomi Campbell deals with it!

If you're reading this, you know that thinning edges are caused by excessive pulling and tugging; tight ponytails and buns are not your friends. Weaves also put a lot of stress on your edges, as do many of the products you could be putting into your hair.

If you are trying to grow back your edges, are hoping to grow them out, or just want to maintain healthy edges, there are a few things to keep in mind. Avoid products with alcohol for starters — alcohol is used to help products you put in your hair dry faster and is found in a lot of gel products, but they can cause major breakage! It might be tempting to gel down your edges, but avoid doing so if possible. (Your hair will thank you!)
